Our little guy is almost 3 months old and I honestly have no idea where the time has gone?!?!  He is growing and changing SO fast...from the pudgy rolls to the little sprouts of baby hair, we are loving life with our sweet boy!  Each day continues to be an adventure filled with joy and the excitement! 

We are thrilled that Olivia has fully embraced her role as his big sister...she's eager to help and she wants to love on Charlie as much as possible!  Most days it's not uncommon to find her in his room with one of her many bags, loading it up with his goodies....jammies, toys, socks, hats etc! He's the first of her many requests when she gets up from sleeping and she patiently waits for him to wake up from his nap, most of the time...still working on this goal!  She wants to pick out his jammies, help with diaper changes and of course bring him socks!  She's quick to console him when he cries, and I even find myself repeating her sweet words, "oh......it's okay buddy-boy".  Charlie loves watching his busy sister.  I think sometimes her energy level exhausts him, but when he's awake he doesn't miss a second of her many activities.  Just in the last couple of weeks he's started interacting with anyone who is watching him...sharing sweet smiles and the most precious sounds! Each new stage is so special, but I have to say that we've had more fun watching his little personality start to shine!   These long winter days seem to be dragging on, but life with Olivia and Charlie continues to light up this house and keep us smiling!  We are so blessed and so in love!

Charles Bret Knighton, "Charlie" blessed our family on November 2nd at 11:51am, weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and measuring 19.5 inches long.  Since the moment we laid eyes on him we knew our lives would be forever changed!  He is the sweetest, most snuggly, loving baby boy. 

 

  No one can prepare you for the amazing/crazy changes that take place with two kids.   I must say we are finally feeling quite good about this new adventure,  however, in the last 4 weeks we have quickly watched several emotional stages blow in and out of our busy home...the honeymoon, the storm and the most recent-pure joy!!  Olivia is still overwhelmed by the amount of love she has for her baby brother, and she is still learning how to show her affection in a loving and gentle way.  After she quickly realized Charlie was here to stay, she flipped the switch and decided she wasn't so sure about this new plan we had in place for our family.  However, her storm didn't last long and she now is beginning to understand that mommy and daddy have enough love and energy for both her and her brother.  Thankfully, she is finally settling into her role as a big sister and loving every minute of it!  Charlie on the other hand adjusted quite well to life at home.  Since the moment he entered this world he has been calm, quiet, and oh-so sleepy!  We are amazed that in the last month he has quickly transformed from a newborn into the early stages of a chubby baby!  He is growing SO quickly and we are doing all we can to soak up every minute of him ! 

 

I laugh at myself when I think back to weeks, days and night before Charlie's arrival...everything was in place, my checklist was completed and we were ready to meet this precious boy.  But all that planning still couldn't prepared us for the changes we were about to embrace...some days have been quite crazy and even a little hairy at times, but we are loving every minute of life with 2 precious and healthy babes!  Charlie has blessed our lives in SO many new ways and it's only been one month! Our hearts are bursting with joy and we know that life as a family of 4 will only bring more love, excitement and happieness into our home with each passing day!
